With the exhibition “Franjo Tuđman – the founder of modern Croatia” the Croatian State Archives dignifies the memory of the first Croatian president. The exhibition is set up in Klovićevi dvori Gallery and will be open from 16 to 22 May. Its author, and director of the Croatian State Archives, Dr Dinko Čutura, summarized the purpose of the exhibition as follows:
“During his entire lifetime and in all his acts, lectures, texts and public appearances, Franjo Tuđman kept in mind and was guided by the idea of Croatian freedom. This idea was the first and most important – and it finally came to life – in a free, independent and sovereign state of Croatia. This exhibition testifies to this journey: from a gifted boy, warrior, soldier, scientist, prisoner and statesman, who stood at the forefront of the realization of the centuries-old desire of the Croatian people – the founding of modern Croatia.”
