Concept and selection of artworks: Ana Medić, museum advisor
The exhibition IN HONOR OF THE MUSEUM! is prepared specially for this year’s Night of Museums! Our museum advisor, Ana Medić, selected the artworks from our gallery fund, which consists of several art collections and is kept in the depots of Klovićevi dvori Gallery. The selection of artworks and the title “In honor of the museum” emphasize the museum’s social, public, and cultural role, upon which the contemporary museum establishes its meaning. By including various modes of expertise and accomplishments from a wide domain of museum interests, the coexistence of art, visual culture and audience should secure its place in the demanding digital landscape of tomorrow. The power of the museum lies precisely in its ability to contribute to the survival of the initial link between the visitor and the museum through its choice of topics, protocols and strategies.
The artworks were selected from the following collections: Collection of artworks by academic painter Josip Crnobori, Memorial collection of Dr. Vinko Perčić, Oskar Herman Collection, Slavko Kopač Collection, Collection of artworks by the painter, printmaker and restorer Josip Restek, and Donated Art Collection.
